Travel Guide to ICTP 2026 (Jeju Island)

Note on Immigration: Jeju Island offers a Visa-Free entry policy for many nationalities. However, visa policies are subject to change. Please visit the Korea Visa Portal or K-ETA Official Website to check the latest requirements for your specific nationality before your departure.

1. Getting to Jeju Island (International Access)

Jeju Island is a “Special Self-Governing Province” in Korea, offering Visa-Free Entry for most nationalities (for up to 30 days). To maximize this benefit and avoid the complexity of a Korean Visa (K-ETA/Standard Visa), we highly recommend using Direct International Flights or Transit via China.

Route A: Direct Flight to Jeju (Recommended)

Best for: Travelers from countries requiring a Korean Visa or those seeking the fastest route.
Main Hubs: Direct flights are available from Shanghai (PVG), Beijing (PEK), Tokyo (NRT/HND), Osaka (KIX), Hong Kong (HKG), Taipei (TPE), and Singapore (SIN).
Advantage: You can skip the Incheon-Gimpo transfer and clear immigration directly at Jeju International Airport without a visa (for eligible countries).

Route B: Transit via Incheon/Gimpo (Seoul)

Step 1: Arrive at Incheon International Airport (ICN).
Step 2: Transfer to Gimpo Airport (GMP) via Airport Railroad (AREX) or Limousine Bus (Approx. 60 min).
Step 3: Take a domestic flight to Jeju (Approx. 65 min).
Note: Entering via Incheon requires a valid Korean Visa or K-ETA, even if your final destination is Jeju.

2. From Jeju Airport to Jeju Shinhwa World

Jeju Shinhwa World is located in the southwestern part of the island (Andeok-myeon).

Option 1: Express Bus (Public Transport)

Bus Number: No. 151 (Red Express Bus)
Boarding Point: Gate 4, 1st Floor (Arrivals).
Drop-off Point: Jeju Shinhwa World Resort (6^th stop).
- Jeju International Airport → Jeju Provincial Office → Halla Hospital → Jeongjon Village → Jeju Tourism University → Donggwang Transfer Center → Jeju Shinhwa World Resort
Travel Time: Approx. 50–60 minutes.
Interval: Every 30–40 minutes.
Fare: Approx. 3,000 KRW (* Cash is not accepted on the bus. Bus fares can be paid using the following methods.):
- Contactless VISA card (please use a VISA card with the contactless payment symbol)
- T-money card
- How to Buy the Card at Jeju Airport ?
  - Airport Convenience Stores: CU and other major convenience stores inside the terminal sell standard T-money cards.
  - SIM/eSIM Kiosks: Some mobile provider booths or roaming kiosks in the arrival hall may sell or bundle them with tourist SIM cards.
  - Outside the Airport: If the airport convenience stores are closed or out of stock, you can easily pick one up at any major convenience store (GS25, CU, 7-Eleven) just a short trip away

Option 2: Taxi

Boarding Point: Follow the “Taxi” signs to the taxi stand across the street from Gate 3.
- Short-distance and Long-distance (Seogwipo) stands are separate; follow the Seogwipo/Andeok lane.
Travel Time: Approx. 40 minutes.
Fare: Approx. 35,000 – 45,000 KRW (May vary by traffic and time).
Tip: Show the address “제주 신화월드 (Jeju Shinhwa World)” to the driver. Most taxis accept international credit cards (Visa/Master).

Option 3: Complimentary shuttle bus (Sunday, Oct.11 Only)

There will also be a complimentary shuttle bus service provided by ICTP only on Sunday, October 11.
Time: Buses depart at 11:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00, and 18:00
